If you’re something like me, you’ll probably figure that the feeling is not going to be mutual, but you will allow yourself to feel it anyway and you’ll wait in peace and quiet, with some good movies and good food, for the moment when those feelings go away,…
I wrote this in the early 1990s. This is the only song on the album that has the format of old indian songs.

The Story
As a kid I was shy and insecure about myself. I would never dare to approach a girl I liked. There was always the fear that girls saw me as an awkward and weird kid. Which was partially true I think.
But there was this one time I picked up some courage to ask a girl out. I walked over to the girl, tapped on her shoulder, she turned around and I froze completely. My left arm was up in the air doing something I don’t know what and there was this very long moment of silence. I can remember that my lips were moving, but no words came out. Then she said some girls were talking about me (which I thought was weird, cool and worrying at the same time, but wow,… girls were talking about me) and that was that. I never found out what it was.
Yes, those were hard times, luckily that is all in the past. I am older and confident now. But you know, there are still some times that I feel awkward or actually that is most of the time and maybe I am also a bit lost for words and maybe I still have a liiiiitle bit of fear left and stuff and uhm… actually you know what, forget what I said.

The Story
Falling in love is a very powerful emotion to go through and maybe also a bit addictive at a young age. When the feeling is not mutual, to learn to let go can take some time, but it is indeed a necessary step to take.
As an adult It can be a very painful process and it does make you stronger, but it also makes you a bit cautious to fall in love again.

I wrote and sang this song somewhere in 2002. The vocal recording you hear on the album is from from that time. The emotion and expression tells the story right, so thought I would leave the vocals the way it was.

The Story
It was in the beginning of December 2019. I was at my mothers place and wrote this song in 15 minutes, melody, chords and lyrics.
This was after a long period of hearing and reading news of the world and not being able to set it aside.
Sometimes good people are dragged into believing something they don’t and sometimes they need to be reminded of that.

The Story
When I was younger, we used to have gigs at festivals, dance parties, clubs and other events. The majority of the people would come there just to have fun. But some guys would be there to pick up girls. There is nothing wrong with that, as long there is no force. It’s just that I have seen only a handful of times where it did work. The other times the guys are just completely wrong in reading the situation. This song is about what I think goes through the mind of one those clueless guys who’s chasing a girl who doesn’t even know he exists.
I Wrote this somewhere beginning 2000s, it didn’t take long to write it. At that time it was one those things that just happened.

When I was 6 or 7 years old, I had my first ever puppy crush on a Spanish girl, her name was Maria Fernandez. Being shy, I never let her know that I had a crush on her. I remember going back to school after the big summer holiday and hearing that she had past away, my little heart broke into million pieces.

There Is Hope
The Story
Sometimes I get a bit depressed and there is this feeling of sadness and a strange sense of clarity.
For me personaly, it might take a day or so, but I know that the feeling eventually will go away.
I’ve learned to try and transition the feeling into something less dominant by watching movies, tv shows, mangas or read a book, at least something in which the story has friendship, heroism, bravery and kindness in it.
And sometimes I don’t do any of those things and I start composing music to try and change how I feel. This track is one of those efforts.

I never saw the movie Casablanca (with the famous line ‘Here’s looking at you kid’ )
I only remember seeing a picture of Bogart in a white suit in an illuminated bar.
When I was a kid I used to imagine or “hear” latin music with that image.
When I got my new musical toys I started composing and thought about that picture.
Why Scotland in the title?…. hmm Why not?
